This webinar will provide hospitals and health systems with a practical overview of the compliance and reporting obligations associated with participation in the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). The session will focus on what it means to operate as a subrecipient of a federal grant, including the application of Uniform Guidance requirements related to allowable costs, procurement, internal controls, record retention, and audit readiness.
The presenters will walk through Single Audit requirements for qualifying hospitals that meet the federal expenditure threshold and explain how RHTP funding can trigger new audit and oversight responsibilities even for organizations with limited prior federal grant experience.
In addition, the session will highlight RHTP specific limitations and conditions, including expenditure caps, prior approval thresholds, reporting expectations, and program specific constraints such as limits on funding for replacement electronic medical record systems. The goal is to help participants understand not only the rules, but how to build sustainable compliance processes that support successful program participation and reduce the risk awarded funds are recouped.
